1998 Dodge Intrepid 4 door FWD. The passenger side tire clicks while curving left at high speeds(65-85mph). I thought it might be an axle but am unsure. The car makes no noises when making tight turns (donut style) in a parking lot. Kind of hard to explain the noise but it sounds like a loud tidah, tidah, tidah until I ease off of the curve (drift) weird if I do say so myself

  1. could be worn ball joints, upper or lower control arms, wheel bearings, cv joints, have a mechanic check the front end, some of these can cause massive damage to the front end and axles if break while driving especially at the speeds you are discussing.

  2. Have the wheel bearing checked.

  3. Inspect around the tire carefully and see if you possibly have a rock stuck in the tread or a s***w/nail in the tire, it will make the type of noises you describe.

You could also try rotating your tires, they may be cupped or unevenly worn... that will make noise as well at highway speeds.

    Good luck!

  4. I agree with kingsand, It sounds to me like you might be having a cv joint going out.  remove your boots and inspect them.  also it wouldn't hurt to check out the other things posted just to make sure.  When you are driving at those speeds it puts more pressure on your cv joints as you are turning.

  5. check cv joints.  one probably has a torn boot and grease has leaked out.

  6. CV Joint
