Ok, this might sound bizarre but maybe not - I know nothing about birds! But a couple of times that my cats gone outside, these two huge crows have came down and gone for him! Crowing (or whatever noise they make) REALLY loudly and swooping for him as well. I just came in from scaring them away but it really kinda scares me because theres two of them and one of him :(

But why would the two crows want to attack/hurt him? :(

*cnfused*

  1. He might be getting too close to their nest and scaring them. Everytime he gets attacked, just bring him in.

  2. wouldn't you if you were a bird. They have probably got a quite valid vendetta against all cats. he he. They have probably had their baby eaten by one at one time and have stereotyped cats in general. Tell him not to take it personally and im sure they wouldn't do him a great deal of harm.

  3. These crows obviously have a nest or chicks nearby and your cat is a predator therefore a threat to their babies.  They are just trying to protect their babies from your cat.  They are right to do this as cats are responsible for the death of millions of birds a year just in the US alone.  Not much you can do to stop nature...maybe your cat should not be outside where it is endangering native wildlife and itself.  Also, keep in mind crows along with all native wild birds are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and cannot be harmed or harassed in any way.

  4. because crows are carrion, they are like vultures, they eat road kill etc, they can be nasty bits of work.they might of been hungry,or your cat might of tried to get them before, and they were getting there own back, thinking your cat was a threat.

  5. crows attack anything that gets "too close" to their nest when they're protecting their babies.. this includes people who may be walking by.. so, it isnt personal... xD

  6. Crows do this to any predator that comes into their area. When you are walking in the woods and all of a sudden you hear crows going ballistic, you know they are trying to run off some type of invader. I live in the woods, and there has been many times I've heard the crows going off, run outside to look and seen them chasing after a fox, bobcat, etc. This is just what they do.

  7. make sure they don't get too close to him as they might peck his eyes out, as long as they're just swooping to warn him, he'll be ok, but if they get too close it won't be good

  8. You may have a fledgling crow in your garden and they are protecting the baby.  Your cat should just move away from them.

  9. protecting a chick
