I was told that it would be best to do this in the early morning after sprinkling the lawn.

It is July now too btw,

why and how would this be preferable or not?

Also for anyone who has knowledge as to how good Weed B- Gone Max is to "Trimec" ........how they compare and so forth,, would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for your answers!

  1. how many nasty chemicals do you propose to USE????.... what is 2,4-D not going to kill that you'd still need the other two????..... hope you don't have kids around......

  2. It's best to apply early in the morning after watering because the plant is still trying to absorb moisture and will more readily absorb the herbicide.

The important thing is that you do it before it gets hot outside becuase the plants pores will close from the heat and it will not absorb as much chemical.

Your lawn does not have to be sopping wet, just damp and cool.

I can't answer for Weed B-Gone or Trimec
