Why would it be unlikely that the earth has a fixed magnetized inner core?

rather than magnetism being produced by the geodynamo. Why is it that the geodynamo doesnt explain geomagnetic reversals, what causes them to happen.

  1. Few if any materials can maintain a fixed magnetic domain orientation at such high temperatures.  We have fairly good evidence that the reversals happened, but we don't know why.


  2. Core is molten.  Molten materals cannot be magnets

  3. i really don't know but it seems if geomagnetic reversal were to happen it would be tremendous. if gravity affects light doesn't it affect earths magnetic field also.
