but he still told me to keep it "secret".

He is not married, he is 27, single,

the other professors would even acknowledge me that

he is not married and has no girlfriend.

Why would my prof. tell me that ?

Would it look bad even if he gives it to me on my last day ?

p.s. I understand why not right now, because it is unethical,

but why should it be kept "secret" even if it's my last day that he does give it to me

  1. he is definitely attracted to you... but wants to maintain his integrity in the light of your being in a teacher-student relationship.as dictated by moral and ethical grounds.

basically by telling you so, he has already crossed the line and is aware of that. hence, his need for secrecy. it is now for you to decide and consider this breach.

however, once this relationship is severed, the question would now be of a different nature .. one between two consenting adults capable of making the right, moral and ethical decisions and choices in life.

personally, he should have waited ...

  2. You're clearly not naive, you know why.  Regardless of whether he is good looking, good personality, etc, my recommendation is "don't go there."  Getting involved with a professor isn't right, and he knows it.

  3. My wife is an undergrad that I taught while going to grad school (teaching assistant)... it is just plain unethical to date a student while you are teaching them.  It is unfair to both that student & other students being taught.  I avoided her because I was attracted to her.

However the day I recieved my grad degree, I called her.

  4. Well think about it...

It wouldnt be the best thing to be spread around school - a teacher going out with a pupil - even if she has left, still wont make his rep. look good.

    He sounds like a creep!
