We recently purchased a home with an in-ground pool, which is green !!! We are shocking it everyday like the pool store said to, but it seems the water level is rising and we are not adding water to the pool. What could be the cause of this ?

  1. Well do you have a waterline going into the pool? It could be leaking.  Has it rained?  The way to test a water level is to put a 5 gallon bucket on the steps, fill it to the same level as the water in the pool,  wait 24 hours and see if they are both the same level still.

  2. I know this is going to sound funny but, drain the pool to see if you have a leek comming inside the pool due to a high water table, if the water table is to high in the winter time the groung around the pool will harden like a rock , the moisture in the soil will then stat to grow and will crack the side walls in your pool, hence the water comming inside the pool without filling it.

Good luck, and I hope it's not to serious, because it can get expensive!!!

  3. you may have a leak in the side wall or a hole in wall or around the pool light or in the bottom of skimmer{s} these are all things to consider i own a pool company for eleven years.
