Why would my teacher give me a mean look?

I went to visit my former teacher today. When she saw me she gave me a tight hug for a few seconds. And she was really happy that I was there. Then when I left, she said "Come back anytime and visit," then I said "ok, I will" and she kinda gave me a mean look. What's up with the mean look?
