Every other faucet in my home has hot water. The tub gets cold water but, not hot. Any ideas on what would cause this?

  1. Bad mixing valve. It needs to be replaced

  2. It could be one of several things. If the supply pipe is galvanized pipe the it's likely to have corrosion and rust build up and blocking the flow. If that's the case you'll need to replace that section of pipe. Or the supply valve may be plugged and in need of a rebuild (kits are at Home Depot or Lowe's) or replacement. I'd start by shutting off the water to the house and rebuild both valves. Might as well do the cold side too. Worst case scenario is you'll have 2 rebuilt valves for around $15 (if you do it). If this doesn't work, it a plugged line. If your calling a plumber, he/she will have all the parts on the truck, the rebuild kits and the pipe.
