Why would my young son love Ernie but he hates Bert?

I cant understand, the two sort of go together.

The fact that both of them go to bed together is kind of creepy. I'd be concerned if my son liked either of them.

That is possible. I liked Lucy but not Ethel and Laverne but not Shirley... Ernie is easy going and Bert is not.

Look Ernie's fun  and he loves life, the life of the party and an all around cool guy. But let me tell you something, Bert's a waste of felt, he's a miserable angry puppet that's always on Ernie's case, like " Ernie don't do this, Ernie you can't do that! ".  I'd stab Bert with a fork and have the Count count " one fork stabbing, two forkstabbing, etc.". I know this may seem extreme but that long headed striped shirt wearing freak has it coming.

My daughter is the same way!!! :D  I have also seen that she prefers orange and the colours of his shirt like blue and red to the colours on Bert.  She laughs at Ernie all the time and laughs when Ernie does stuff to Bert, but doesn't laugh when it's just Bert.

Because he's weird......Ha ha just kidding. Either Ernie is like him(personality wise) or he is your son's complete opposite. When you ask him what does he say? maybe he does not like the color yellow. Or maybe Bert just looks ugly to him. Only you can ask him though.

ernie has the appearence of being younger i guess.  

i do think they are life partners though.
