Question:

Why would pincher bugs be all over my back sliding glass door and the walls and cealing cover for the porch?

they hang out in my dogs dog food, climb on or in anything outside, to the extream of me not being able to bring inside anything thats been on the porch for more than 15 minutes. I dont know what to do, i have a one yr. old and dont want to spray. do these things make nests? i wouldnt know where to spray even if i were to. HELP ME!!

  1. No, don't kill them. They'll be gone very fast. Those are stag beetles, and very harmless. They are very important to the ecosystem.

    After years in their larval stage, once they're a beetle they come above ground for a few days to mate, then go back into rotting logs to live. They eat decaying wood and bark, keeping the soil healthy. The jaws look fierce, but it's only for fighting other males.

    They do not make nests. Beetles are not a social insect.


  2. You will have to include a link to a picture of one because "pincher bug" is not a real name for a bug.
