  1. It is now.  This is one of the most moronic things I have ever heard of.  The school head teachers have to do masses of financial reports and stuff when what they should be doing is looking after the education of the kids. This isn't their fault, it's the result of "advice" to education departments from "management consultants"  and bean counting accountants.

I've heard of school teachers not applying for government grants because of the effort involved when they realise the "grant" is something like $250 for schools with hundreds of kids.  And this is in government schools, not private ones.  Why government schools need to apply for government grants is freakin' beyond me.  It's senseless.

They wonder why public education is going down the drain.

  2. School Associations are required to have an ABN if they will be undertaking any financial transactions.

  3. yes.....they handle transactions and have bank accounts ect...they operate just like any other business like a building company or truck company.....they all handle money.
