Why would service pack 3 fail to download?

I tried to download sp3 and it downloaded but when it was time to restart my computer, my computer would not restart. I had to repair windows to get it back up so i was going to re-install windows but now when I load the CD, I keep getting a error message. What can i do to solve this problem?

You can try to safe boot it (F8) when it is starting to load, or the best thing you can do is try and reinstall the windows software with the cd, right when there is power. Or you can take it to geek squad in any best buy, and they can help you for a fee. Plus it maybe is just that the files windows uses to start up are damaged, but dont worry that is is easy to fix by reinstalling windows.
