Ok, the obvious answer is speed. It's 3g man!! But this is the same 3g phone that has been having serious reception problems. The 3g is encased in plastic as opposed to aluminum and it's $15 per month more. I just bought a 2g iphone for $275.00 and there is no way, the speed benefits of the 3g outweigh the additional $180.00 per year fees, the cheap plastic casing that you can't insure, and the lack of reception and dropped calls the 3g has. How much time does one spend surfing the internet on their cell phone anyhow? I just don't get this one. Reminds me of the old saying selling ice to Eskimos.

  1. I have both. The speed is really noticeable. If you stream music or video from your home PC, the difference is night and day, no buffering. I stream music constantly, the 16 GB, although 2x as much as the iphone 2g is aminimal amount of storage. The GPS is something I thought, "...Mehh"  but in everyday use it is incredible feature...and i don't want to go back  to the days pre-GPS.

  2. the original was kind of like a prototype to see how it runs and stuff (I didn't think they were selling them anymore). The 2g(I heard) had problems like glitching, not turning on and that sort of stuff...

The 3g would of changed a bit to fix those problems.

I'm farly sure the 3g will have upgrades as well after more feedback.
