Question:

Why would someone label AGW skeptics as anti-environmentalists?

Isn't the real question of whether man is or is not having a significant influence on global warming assuming there is global warming? If 200 million people died tomorrow *the ultimate conservation* would that prevent global warming? Then how do you expect conservation to solve the "problem"?

  1. No...it's the birth rate and life expectancy rates that you would have to contend with. These can change rapidly due to many variables ie; overpopulation,economics,famine,genocide... a morbid thought.

There many forms of conservation: proper land management, changes to the infrastructure,education/awareness,incen... and cooperate greed.Nothing is being being done with any sense of urgency...maybe they know something we don't?

I've always believed in a basic life style, but it can never be done completely.Your still going to have a relative amount of CO2 emissions anyway.I'm still yet to be convince that this is the cause of GW/Climate change.

  2. From the tone of many post here, many are anti environmentalist.  Those who simply doubt the global warming theory are entitled to their point of view.  It's always healthy to have some skepticism.

However on the issue of the environment in general, I would hope that people see the common sense in protecting the fragile ecosystems of which we are an inseperable part.

Countless environmental studies show that we are threatening those ecosytems on a global scale.  This has been obvious since long before this global warming debate became a big issue.

All of the things being recommended as solutions to global warming, are exactly what we should be doing anyway.  We've been talking about it for more than 30 years.  Now we have the technology to do it.  And oil is running out anyway.

  3. The current question is indeed whether the global warming is being predominantly caused by man so it is perfectly possible to be skeptical about this and at the same time be very concerned about the environment.

However if the motivation behind the skepticism is a desire not to change to a more environmentally friendly lifestyle then the person can be described either as a AGW skeptic of an anti-environmentalist.

On moral grounds I would not suggest that we rely on the death of people to reduce the impact of life on the environment.

  4. because we are

that does not mean we are anti environment as most of us are not.

what it means is that we take a scientific view of the affects on the environment.

we do not take a religious view or a zero growth  view.

as they are unworkable and do not improve anything.

we are anti environmentalist because they are not for mankind.

they only can come up with theories that in most cases are unworkable.

    are racist

    are mono-religious christian

    are elitist

    are far left radical.

    are anti working person

    anti freedom

    unconstitutional

    anti free speech

    anti rule of law.

    they are liars.

most are just as or more damaging to the environment.

most want solar wind  or hydro till they find it will be built in there back yard. then they fight it

and want it built in someone else's back yard.

they want all the modern products.

just don't mine the raw materials here or process the materials here,

don't even think about building the product here

they demand that is all that is done in some dirty third world country.

and don't think about owning a car.

    us peons don't need them

we wont have jobs so we won't need cars to get to work.

and none of this has any thing to do with global warming.

  5. Well, what a deep thought provoking question! So if 200 million people die tomorrow would that prevent global warming, oh yes some may say the ultimate conservation, but conservation of what? Not the human race! Yes lets be more thoughtful on human reproduction and global warming issues, they go hand in hand, no mistake!

So conservation can solve the problem, lets see for starters greed and selfishness die tomorrow! Sort that and we are on the way to conservation solving the problem!
