Why would someone set a trap to kill stuff in town next to a daycare center!!!!!??????

My cat disapeared for a few days and we thought that was normal cause he had done before but this time he didnt come back!we looked everywhere and then we asked around and this lady had a look on her face that i just knew my cat oatis was gone. A man had set a trap that killed rabbits and stuff but instead it was my oatis.we had the man arrested!!why would someone set one right next a daycare in town!!??

because he is not very bright.

trappers use traps that do not catch domestic animals.  he was probably just trying to kill every thing. next to a day care is probably illegal, stupid at least, if a kid got caught in one, he would be in big trouble.

plus, rabbit bait should be a vegetable, which a cat has no interest in, he was probably killing anything that walked by.

At the end of the day, your cat's death is your fault. Whenever you let ANY animal outdoors, you are giving it Carte Blanche to die. All pets should be indoor animals.

If your cat did not get caught in a cat trap, it could have gotten run over by a car, eaten antifreeze, been killed by a cat hater, gotten Leukemia from another cat, gotten FIV from another cat, got rabies from another animal, died of heat exhaustion etc etc etc etc.

So you see, his trap was unfortunately the last thing your cat saw, but if you would have kept him indoors, he would be alive today.

Sorry for sounding harsh, it's just that once you open that door, there is no guarantee any pet will return.

that's why you shouldn't let your cat outside... doesn't matter where you live or what daycares are around or anything... there are many dangers for them.  my friend lost 3 outdoor cats- poison, hit by car, drowned in a pool in the winter that still had some water in it (in someones backyard)... keep them in if you want to avoid these dangers...

some people are just ignorant.  have you checked your local shelter to see if someone took your cat there?

I am GLAD you had him arrested.
