Why would the Yankees build their new Yankee Stadium larger in size but smaller in capacity?

  1. Because the people want more money.  They are going to put in less seats and charge more for each one.  (I know, it's stupid and the people that made the decision are dumb@$$es).  Putting less seats in and charging more for each seat will result in them getting more money.  All they think about is money and they don't care about the fact that they're ripping a piece of historical memories to the ground.  

    Even the classic Yankees (Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig, ext) played there and they will still demolish it.  Yankee Stadium is also where Gehrig made the famous "Luckiest Man on the Face of the Earth" speech there.
