  1. You mean if the Australian dollar interest rates fall?  It's because there's less incentive for people to maintain balances in Australian Dollars compared to other currencies.

    Also it's an indication that the Reserve Bank of Australia expects an economic slowdown in Australia which will lower the demand for Australian dollars later.
