Why would they give me a ct scan?

they say i separated my rib from my cartilidge

new doc said that i have a possiblility of multiple floating ribs

why did they give me a ct scan instead of an mri

what can they do for this to fix this horrible pain im in?

  1. A CT Scan for an area close to the skin such as ribs is fine, but if you need to go deeper like in a knee or shoulder, an MRI would probably be ordered. They may give you a support wrap to hold the ribs in place while the cartilage heals and put you on a mild Narcotic Pain Pill for a while. Extra Strength Tylenol may do as well though.
