We have 2 cats and they started peeing and pooping all over the house when we moved here. And we have finally got fed up with it so we have a cage that we have made for them it is nice size and they have been in it for about a month now and they have started peeing inside the cage when they didn't right away and they are not drinking there water. What do you think is the problem ?

  1. Were they using a litter pan ok before you moved there?

Sometimes moving can stress them and they will  act oddly. They will also "mark" any area that has been  previously used  as a litter box by another animal, even just on the carpet.

The problems you  indicate alone i think would most likly be behavorial but  when they are also not drinking water I think  you may have something more serious like that they have picked up some sort of disease  from the houses previous animal occupants.   I think talking to or taking them to a vet would be a good idea.  Kidney disease or something else might cause them to be acting weird.

  2. Moving can be stressful for an animal...they are marking their territory...or the previous tenants may have had animals that urinated or defecated in areas of the house and they are "covering" their smells with their own....do you have a litter box in the cage with them? Also as cats age the become incontinent. Cats are weird...mine will "clean" it's own litter box sometimes.....she'll get to digging around in it and ends up flinging stuff out on the floor.

  3. They need a litter box.

They will go to it without any training.

You just need to scoop it out once in awhile.

For heavens sake, get them out of that cage. Its not healthy for them.

If you don't want to do that put them up for adoption.

A pissy cage is no place for any animal.
