  2. He probably thinks that the crapwagons looks more s**y then the DP01.

    Seriously though, the IRL can't change the chassis and engine until 2010. By then, I hope they decide to change the car to a chassis similar to the DP01 and turbocharged engines if they want the new IndyCar to work.

    I can't stand the current formula. The engines sound like farting bees and the chassis is just plan ugly.

  3. Because it's a turbocharged engine....I agree it's a vastly superior chassis to the "mosquito" looking Dallara, but unless they can retrofit the chassis to accomodate normally aspirated engines.....No chance of the DP01 making an appearance.

  4. Tony George didn't integrate the DP01 chassis into the IRL was a sign of victory over the Champ Car teams. If the DP01 was carried over into the IRL, this would have meant the existing IRL teams wouldn't have been as competitive on their race tracks. But with the incoming Champ Car teams they would have to start all the way from the beginning in learning the new car. At the moment the incoming teams and there drivers dint look very good.

    They should have used the IRL cars on the ovals and the DP01 car on the road courses. This would have given all the teams on there respected race tracks.

    But like mentioned above the DP01 is a far superior car.

The Dallara was designed to run on ovals and the DP-01 was designed to run on road courses.  By updating the Dallara years ago, they have been able to successfully run on both ovals and road courses.  If they tried the same with the DP-01 right now, it might have some problems adapting to ovals without additional upgrades.  Attempting to redesign a car during a racing season is not a smart or safe move.  That, along with the fact that more Dallaras are available compared to DP-01's, is why the ICS currently stays with the Dallara.
