I'm not sure, of course I want to date but it bothers me. I'm a high school, 16 years old male going to 11th. Every time I want to ask a girl out, I think to myself, won't we just break up after wards. So I went through high school without even dating anyone. I'm shy, but I have the guts to talk to girls or ask them out. How to you people dating knowing you might break up? Do you even think about this or is it just me? I don't know what to do? If I don't find help, I don't know what would happen at prom?! I would be single!

  1. I think that it is a combination of wanting to spend time with someone else and learning things about your self. You learn dos and donts of dating. You dont really think of breaking up all you do is enjoy and if you break up then you do.

  2. It's a learning experience.. a life experience. It's just a good thing to go through even though it could end badly. Breaking up isn't the end of the world and everyone's going to go through it even if they don't date at all in high school. It's almost inevitable. Might as well get used to it now, so you'll know some tricks later on in life ;) Besides that, not every high school relationship ends badly!

  3. im 16 as well

I get what your saying, its like you don't know what the future holds and you don't want to break someone's heart nor do you want that someone to break your heart. however, i think we should live in the present and let the future arise as each day comes and goes.

If you like someone, no matter how young like 16 or old as 60, you should still be with that person you want to be.

your never too young to be in love as well as to get ur <3 broken.

Its a risk we all have to take.

    Best of Luck to you=)

  4. find a girl and become her best friend then you will realise she is everything you wanted and she just might feel the same way. dont just randomly ask a girl out thats plain stupid

  5. Well I think the best thing is to just date and have fun get to know girl just be friends. A girlfriend is cool and all but at that age its best to just go out with different girls and find out what each one has that you like and ones that you can't stand then later on you can know what you want in a girlfriend. Believe me high school is crazy people think they are cool because they have a girl friend its not true in the real world. The best thing to have is great friends, the kind that are there for you and you can always count on to give you good advise. Girls make good friends to I know its hard to talk to them some times. The best way to get a girlfriend is by having her be your friend first then you know you two like to hang out already and this are so much better. Good luck with everything and for prom just find some one you know who you are friends with and ask them it will make it funner than asking the hottie who has no life out believe me :D

  6. I think some people just like the thought of being with someone.

  7. dude, you have to put less value on to women/dating in general. The more value you put on it the more you'll worry about other nonsense. If you break up so what?! Her loss for having a bad taste/losing out on hanging out with a great guy.

Shyness is your limiting belief to why you're not talking to girls. Stop that, know its nonsense it can be changed. I'll help you with that, its a bit long to post, so email me at hwasin.ssir@gmail.com. After you get your shyness settled, and able to approach girls you'll see DRAMATIC differences.

  8. No, you're not the only one! I'm in high school too, and I have the same doubts. I'm sure lots of people do.

But honestly, we all have to think otherwise. There are married couples who were once high school sweethearts. It's a hard process, but it's possible to stay with a certain person who you love very much.

And think about it - do you really want to look back on your high school memories and think about how much you wanted to ask a girl out? Or how you were alone during prom? Or how a certain girl might have stayed with you all the way to the end?

You don't know unless you try. Life is not a fairy tale, but there is love and even if it doesn't last for a long time, it's still worth it. You have to put yourself out there - don't let a silly fear of the future pull you back. It sounds cheesy, but just focus on the present. You don't know how things will turn out.

    Hope this helps!

    :)

  9. I am also in the eleventh grade. I wouldnt date anyone for the same reason as you until just recently. The key is to find someone that is compatible with you and can hold your interest for more than a couple of hours. Everyone used to tell me that I was missing out on what could be some great relationships, but I just didnt (and still dont) see the use in dating someone you will break up with later. Ive finally found someone thats perfect for me and they were worth the wait:).
