I am a cold hearted SOB who kills time at night during the Asian market on yahoo. When it's slow I get a kick out of people's answers. But this obviously little girl wants to know if the tooth fairy is real. I could care less if you lost your job, home, need handout from the government because you are old enough to make your own decisions and if you can't handle life p**s on you. BUT THIS IS INNOCENCE! Why force the world on her so fast. She'll discover, war, death, crime, rape, greed etc soon enough. When she asked about a tooth fairy just say YES KID ITS REAL GO TO BED. What you are better for ruining her idea. Pathetic!

It's really harsh - an innocent child's belief smashed by people on the internet who aren't tactful enough to keep that belief alive..

But it begs the question - If she really was a small child, then why on earth would she be asking if the tooth fairy was real on the internet??

i really do agree with you. but this just brought up two questions in my mind:

1. why was she on the internet if she is so young that she still believes in the tooth fairy?  where were her parents?

and

2. she might not have been as young as everyone thought and just thought it was funny.

but nevertheless, you are right. why not let a child dream a little more before having the weight of the world being put upon her shoulders, like poor atlas.

And hey, she was asking for the truth and she got it, from most people anyway. Why lie when they are obviously old enough to know myths from truths?

Somebody else asked if Santa Clause was real and this girl answered that it was just the parents putting presents under the tree and that Santa is not real.  I think this is not an innocent little girl but someone asking about the Tooth Fairy as a joke.

There's a minimum age limit to be on Answers. You're supposed to be 13.

I don't know about the tooth fairy, but the mermaid questions are pretty annoying, so I can understand why people make fun of the kids asking them.
