I work at a grocery store, and the manager told us that if we were robbed and knew the amount of money taken not to tell the police. Why?

  1. there could be several reasons.

  2. The less the police know, the more money you can own

  3. HE MOST LIKELY IS INSURED AND WOULD INFLATE THE AMOUNT OF LOSS. THE CRIME OF ROBBERY IS THE SAME IF YOU TOOK 1 DOLLAR AS IT IS WITH A MILLION. ROBBERY IS ROBBERY

  4. I have 2 guesses-

There is no way to know a total without doing a count.  Most people wanting to be helpful will say 'about $2500" that then becomes the official police tally.  this becomes a problem when all the bags or drawers or tills are counted and it $7000.

    or

He all ready plans on being dishonest in the event of a robbery.

  5. So the manager can exaggerate

  6. Most likely so that if $165.00 was taken, he'll claim $1,650.00 from his insurance.......thus, why rates are sky high!

  7. not sure, but its poor advise. Do not withhold any info or evidence. you may be the one getting into trouble if you do.

  8. So your manager can lie to try ands gewt extra monye. But guess what? If you lie and get caught he'll say he just trusted you. You will go to jail for him. Who's his boss? I'd give them a call and say, Hey, i won't lie for your theif of a Manager.
