Do you not care if you get injured and cripled for life? or killed?

Do you not care if your head goes through the windshield?

Remember that new jersey governor who advocated in favor of the seatbelt law but didn't wear his own seatbelt.......then got cripled for several months and did these commercials

"I have to live with my mistake, you don't; buckle up."

  1. I guess some people just forget or they don't feel comfortable wearing it. My family and I got into the habit of always wearing our seatbelts after my uncle was paralyzed after being in a bad car accident. He was thrown out of his car because he was not wearing his seat belt.

  2. Not a question.

I'm in full agreement, though.  It actually feels very peculiar to be in a moving vehicle without a seatbelt on anymore.

  3. I would and I do wear my seatbelts..........

  4. and this concerns you just how<

  5. u face those fears and everything the second u step into a car....if someone doesn't mind being a cripple in his later life that his problem....

    but either way

even if ur walking on the street theres a chance ur head can go through a windshield ....then u die...but the guy in the car might be wearing a seat belt and survived.... then what?

  6. Because it should be a choice and not a law.  What happened to our free rights?  It's fine to be warned and educated but it's a person's choice to do what they want as long as they obey the traffic laws that involve others and public safety.  I'd rather be in in a limo not wearing a seat belt as a passenger than on a motorcycle which doesn't have one and there is no law for either and they are extreme examples of vehicles on the road where cars fall in the middle and have seat belt laws.  What's the point?  Give the police an excuse to ticket someone and the government more money.  How about a law about the grade of steel and distance between the passenger compartment and the bumpers?  BTW,  I do believe that seat belts are a no brainer for safety but not about being a law.  I'ts unconstitutional.  I'ts like governmental warnings gone communist.

  7. Here are a couple of guys who probably didn't live through their mistake

My wife works in the medical insurance business. You would not believe the litany of injuries sustained by people who did not buckle up. We both agree that sometimes they would be better off dead. Buckle up or pick your poison.

  8. in aus its law to wear them, unless reversing. i don't understand why you wouldn't wear them if you had a choice, its not like they restrict your movement, your in a car so you don't need to move. i am all for them, saved my mum and sister.

  9. Of course everyone should wear a seat belt.  I don't when backing up so that I can turn around in the seat better. Some people are more afraid of being trapped in a burning car or one sinking in a lake. Some are forgetful or lazy.  Some people have not been in an accident yet and do not expect to in the next few blocks or miles.  Some people have been in accidents and came away OK so they are not worried.  Some just do not like being told what to do.
