  1. It's about time the IOC comes with a fair way to count medals, i guess that they haven't done it yet because of their "non-competitive" approach to sports and all that.

My suggestion: since gold, silver and bronze are ranked 1,2 and 3 we should award 3 points for gold, 2 for silver  and -yes, you guessed it- 1 for bronze.Period.

Do the math, and tell me who's winning.

  2. Imagine one country "A" winning 100 gold medals and another country "B" winning zero gold, zero silver  and 101 bronze.  Is it fair to say the winner is the "B" country? I think we all know the answer.

  3. i know and i'm scandalized at how US media are portraying that USA is leading in this olympics.

  4. it's not about quantity. it's about quality ^^

china is first because it's held in china lol and because they have more gold medals. i guess it's like that because gold medals are the best medals ^^ either ways. i'm happy with gold, silver or bronze.

    GO NEW ZEALAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Good point.  Every other Olympic tracking site sorts by gold medal first, not total medals.  Certainly, Chinese websites rank the medal count in this way.  Is it because the US would not be in first if it were sorted that way?  Perhaps.  Regardless, both the US and China have had fantastic showings in the Olympics this year.

  6. because the U.S. has the most total medals.  if you look all the countries are in order by total medal count.  there is nothing misleading there
