Whys my best bet for a new PC brand?

Question

Im getting a new PC soon and ill be getting it from futureshop. Whats the best company to go with? My options are:

Acer, Compaq, Dell, and Hewlett Packard (HP)

acer = c**p, e machines = gateway = c**p, HP = compaq = just ok, dell = a little better, apple = best

dell sucks.  they use cheap parts, only last maybe two years.  if that.

Gateway has been best for me.  it customizes really easy (aka you can add stuff without much trouble) and they last forever.  seriously, forever.  it's amazing how long we've kept ours running.

and with the right upgrades, you can keep your computer top-of-the-line a good four years after you bought it.

Don't get an acer.

I have a compaq laptop and love it.  I also have a Dell desktop and it works great.

Check out the after sales service.. before you ever buy any computer... from a big company... The after sales service is the most important thing that you should worry about. Speaking of years of experience in building and servicing computer system. I would go to a local small computer shop and have one built. Their after sales service will be 100% better than the big Computer Box mover Companies... Like the ones you mention above...

I have had good experiences with Compaq but many people do not like it because it has problems with Internet explorer. If you get it costom at all go with Acer because they have a wide selection of what you may want, but if you just want a computer that will perform day to day tasks i would go with a Dell, or HP because they are older companies and have easy download platforms so you can download something and not be asked a million questions (but still stay safe).

Dell typically is considered to be the highest end of PC brands, at least these days and I think you'd have the best luck with that, however I think you will pay a lot more as well. The best bet for both value and affordability would be with HP or Compaq, both have reliable products at affordable prices. Acer can be kind of a c**p-shoot you can sometimes get a great product for a low price but you could also end up with a piece of junk, personally I would avoid that brand and stick to the others.

btw- alienware is WAY overpriced and by no means worth it, apple is also over priced, and it has overpriced software.

I would go with dell i dont know your price limit i would buy a dell XPS pc or alienware because its made by dell.
