Whys my cat puking so much/why won't my cat eat?

I found out recently my cat has chronic liver disease, and more recently she has been throwing up a lot, multiple times a day. She also has diarhea in her cat box. If we give her canned food she licks up all the gravy and liquid parts but doesn't eat the meat. Is that the cause? Why won't my cat 'eat'?

  1. I'm not a vet but i would recommend putting your cat on a raw diet, I use Nature's Variety raw chicken formula. Dry kibble is very bad for cats in so many ways, its probably the reason for your cats liver trouble.

Can food isn't all that bad for cats but know what to look for. Read:

Take your cat to the vet ASAP and get it some medication and proper treatment chronic liver disease is a scary and serious ailment you shouldnt let it go for too long.

  2. Ask your vet - it's serious if this goes on.

  3. The treatment completely depends on what is wrong with your cat's liver. Does she have cancer? Hepatic lipidosis? Trauma? An infection?

Obviously if your cat is not eating things are just going to get worse. Often times cats with liver issues who refuse to get enough nutrition on their own must have a feeding tube put in.

If your cat continues to not eat, please take her to a veterinarian, preferably one who can offer 24 hour emergency care if needed.

Here's a little information on feeding tubes & then liver issues:

    Good luck.
