  1. Light has all the colors. Various colors exist due to various frequencies that make up light.

    Grass appears green cause it absorbs all the frequencies except the one that corresponds to color green.

    This applies to all colored objects.

    When all frequencies are present in the light that enters our eye we see white. When none of the frequencies are present ( ie no light) we see black.

  2. The grass is green because it contains chlorphyll, a substance which makes food for it using sunlight, water and minerals. This substance is green in colour. And is the basic element behind the plant life.

    Not alone the grass is green due to chlorophyll, the leaves of all the plants are also green.
