  1. Ace is 1, it is derived from the old french word 'as', which came from the latin word 'as' which means 'a unit' and a single unit is of course 1.

This is the common view but sometimes an Ace is used as the card of highest value for reaons I don't know about.

  2. Number 1 is THE ACE.

  3. because the Ace can be used as high or low in most games

    examples:

poker: you can have a low straight A-2-3-4-5 or a high straight 10-J-Q-K-A

Rummy/Gin: you can use the same combo of runs as straights is poker

FYI: There is only one game that I know of that the Ace is always 1 or the low in a straight or run and that is Cribbage... (a little trivia there if you didn't know it)

  4. Ace is one.

  5. Ace is a variable value. One of these values that it can be is 1. This is the LOW value. It can also be HIGH value, which can be either 11 or 14, depending on what the King's value is. Usually, the HIGH Ace's value is 1 higher than the King's value.

  6. coz ace is 1

  7. ACE is ONE...or ELEVEN
