Question:

WiFi 2.8 GHz Signal Loss Connectors vs. Solder?

As far as signal loss is concerned is it better to use connectors when splicing a coax cable (which I don't currently have) or if I solder the two together is this better anyway. The cable is going from my router to an outdoor antenna but it is in two legths, one with a connector for my router and one with connector for my antenna and cut ends in the middle.

Thanks

  1. soldering is going to leave the cable unbalanced at the join, you can not duplicate the impedance of coax after joining it. Use proper connectors.
