Barack Obama defended John McCains' military service record from a slam by John Wesley Clark, a retired military general yesterday at a press reception.

On the other hand, last fall John McCain famous laughed it off when one of his supporters asked him during a press conference (regarding Hillary Clinton):  "How do we beat the *****?"
