a 2000 lexus GS300 is what i would choose.

As a luxury car company, lexus has ranked number 1 in reliability and quality for more years than i can remember. Besides that this isn't really a fair comparison, the RL is acura's full size vehicle as opposed to the GS which is lexus' mid size vehicle, either way the 2000 GS, is by far a better driving car, and is as reliable as a tank, downside is taht resale values for the GS are sky high. The interior for the GS is superb even by today's standards.As for the RL, i am not a fan.

They are both pretty reliable.  I have heard of transmission issues with the 5sp automatics in Acuras and Hondas from about this time period.  That is about the only bad thing I have heard of for either vehicle though.  I personally would hold out for a GS400 or GS430, but that is just me.

"Better" depends on which one you like, but Lexus interiors are overall better than Acuras, and in this case, although the RL is the "flagship" of Acura, I don't think it holds us as much as the GS.

As for speed, if you look at just 0-60, the RL ran in about 8 seconds, while the GS300 was around high 6, about 6.8.  Therefore, the GS is faster.

Reliable, I would say is the only area where the RL might beat out the GS.

Given both equal, I would pick the 2000 GS.

I think the RL is faster.... 3.5L engine, GS is 3.0

I'd go for the Lexus because I like Lexus better. =)
