Wich would you get - one syrian hamster or two gerbils?

i am up for either one. which would be more friendly?

I've had both and gerbils are way better. Hamsters are nocturnal, but gerbils are active on and off throughout the day. It's also a lot more fun to watch 2 gerbils play than 1 hamster sleep. Their care is pretty much the same.

2 gerbils.  They are very friendly.  From the day you get them they are ready to jump in your hand.  They have very curious and bold personalities.  They are up during the day so you can actually see them play unlike you would with a hamster.  gerbils do not bite or smell either.  They make great pets.

Also make sure you get an aquarium instead of a wire cage or plastic cage.  a plastic cage will be chewed through and bedding will be kicked out of a wire cage. An aquarium eliminates these problems. They cost about 10 dollars so they are also the cheapest buy.
