Very against the invasion of privacy that a Urine Analysis involves when applying for a job. I see no reason why performance cannot determine my eligibility for a position. It is ridiculous that employers can't simply keep an eye out for stoned workers! If it's a problem, it will be obvious.

  1. Virtually all large businesses do at least pre-employment drug testing.  Small businesses generally do not, except for those small businesses that are required by law to test.  Anyone who is a safety-sensitive employee in the transportation field, for example, is subject to comprehensive drug testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and random testing, plus return-to-duty testing following any positive).  "Safety-sensitive" includes truck drivers, aviation mechanics, and lots of other positions.  Other than that, most small businesses believe they cannot afford to do testing and don't need to do it (because they can watch employees more closely).

The Supreme Court has upheld the drug testing laws, so your only options are to grin-and-bear-it or look for work in small companies.

I know this is not the answer you'd like, but I hope it helps.
