I am studying Wicked for our musicals assignment, and one of the questions part of the project is

Does the musical call for an orchestral or rock group accompaniment?

I thought it was orchestral because all instruments are played, and it definitely doesnt sound like a rock group.

*How do i answer the question? Like, i can't just say "Orchestral" it has to be a paragraph explaining why.

THANKYOU SO MUCH! I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP WIDELY :)

  1. It's an orchestra. Hence the orchestra pit and the conductor. Also, there's an entire room full of percussion instruments that isn't in the pit because of the volume it creates. There is a large array of instruments needed for all the songs and a rock band would never work.

Just listen to the introduction for the first song in the entire show (No One Mourns the Wicked) and you'll see why.
