Wicket-keeper spot under discussion reveals Inverarity – Cricket News Update
As the Australians weigh up their options ahead of the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BJ-Haddin-c1170 in the reckoning.
The debate of who will don the gloves has arrived in wake of Haddin’s outstanding performance in the recently started Aussie domestic season, where the 34-year-old showed impressive ball handling abilities along with marked improvement with the bat.
Following a tough period, where his position had come into question owing to his patchy outings with the bat, he was subsequently left-out of the limited-overs squad earlier in the year in preference to Wade and further dropped down the pecking list after being forced to return home from the Caribbean tour due to personal reasons.
That firmly cemented Wade as the permanent wicket-keeper across all formats and the left-hander repaid the faith by notching up a maiden Test century against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 and more recently, in the World T20.
Haddin on the other hand, started the current domestic season in fine fashion for his state side http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tasmania-c854, the veteran confirmed his readiness by notching up an impressive century, and further kept wickets for 186 overs, most of which was flawless.
Moreover, the self-belief was back, with the player himself wanting to simply enjoy his game after missing plenty of international action. "There's enough to worry about as a team without worrying about selection. If you're playing well as a team and winning games, more guys get pushed on to higher honours. I'm happy with where my game's at batting, keeping and just enjoying being back playing cricket," he said back then.
Inverarity was also pleased with the competition and said that the final call will be made next week. "We will be talking together on the wicketkeeping next week and that is one of the things we will be discussing," Inverarity said.
