Wide Receiver favourite for the Ladbrokes.com Kent National Handicap Chase

Wide Receiver is likely to dominate the proceedings in the Ladbrokes.com Kent National Handicap Chase at Folkestone in England on Wednesday, February 29, 2012. The winner of the class-3 event will be awarded with a cash prize of £9,747.
Only seven entries have been confirmed for the three mile seven furlong race and they are: Wide Receiver, Chapolimoss, Cerium, Power Pack Jack, Picture In The Sky, Miko De Beauchene and Upham Atom.
Out of these runners, Wide Receiver has the best chances of winning, as he has already won six chase events. His strike rate is decent as well, as he has entered 18 of such races. Other than his victories, he has managed to finish third on a couple of occasions
as well.
The most important thing, which will encourage the punters to place bets on Wide Receiver, is his recent form. He has been running extremely well over the past few races and has got terrific momentum.
The nine-year-old gelding, trained by Charlie Longsdon, will be partnered by Felix De Giles, who has been doing well in chase races. He has earned 67 victories in such events until now and has a good strike rate.
Neil King’s trained runner, Cerium, will also be the one to watch out for, as he has got a decent record in chase races. He has participated in 20 of such event, winning four times. Although his strike rate is not much impressive, he has the ability to fight
for victories.
Other than his four wins, the 11-year-old gelding has got one runner up and a third place finish to his name as well. He will be partnered by Trevor Whelan, who has just managed to win a couple of races while chasing.
Another horse, who has the winning momentum on his side, is Chapolimoss. He has won a couple of chase races out of the four he took part in. The best thing about him is that his recent form has been superb.
The eight-year-old gelding, trained by Lawney Hill, will be ridden by David Bass, jockey who has earned 16 victories in chase racing.
Considering the recent form of Wide Receiver and Chapolimoss, it is quite unlikely that anyone else will be able to challenge them. Both of them have the best odds of winning today and the bettors will have to make a close call.
