Wide ruled or college ruled paper...in college, does it really matter?

I'm starting college Monday. The other day somebody gave me about 10 packs of loose leaf, wide ruled paper. Is that fine to use for my classes? Does it matter?

  1. I would go with college ruled simply because the lines on wide ruled paper are way too far apart. But, I don't think it really matters to the teachers.

  2. No, get what you like best.

Teachers don't care, and normally if you have to hand anything in it  usually has to be typed out. Even math homework, and most homework is now done through the Internet anyway, so I hope you have a computer, of course if not, the library has plenty

  3. I noticed that wide ruled paper makes you write bigger. College ruled tends to make one write smaller and therefore looks a little more organized.

  4. Usually it doesn't matter. I wouldn't waste the paper that they gave you but I would definitely start using college ruled after that... you will be taking a lot more notes than you did in high school!

  5. You use whatever you're comfortable with. The professor doesn't check your notes.

  6. i'd use it for notes, but i'd ask the teacher's preference b/f handing in homework done on them. my prof's weren't picky, but i know some that are.

  7. You can probably use any paper you want unless your teacher tells you to specifically, but i believe they made college ruled to save paper and your money because you can write more on one sheet. But you don't HAVE to use it.

  8. You will probably find that assignments are not handed in as handwritten if you have them other than tests. Many colleges and/or instructors insist on typed/printed essays and provide computers or expect people to have them.  You will be taking notes on the paper and it is assumed adults have smaller writing than kids, so more material and neater organization on the narrow paper.  Lot more notes to take about learning so more on page.

  9. the only time it may matter is if you have to turn in a hand written assignment, most of your assignments will be done on the computer, so the type of paper used for notes will not matter.

  10. paper?  I'm not sure you'll be turning much in on ruled paper... even if you don't have a computer of your own you'll be doing your work on computer at the dorm or other computer labs.

  11. If it's for your own class notes, it shouldn't be a big thing....it doesn't matter.

When handing in something to be graded, there will be requirements, but normally they want typed or word-processed stuff, so lined paper isn't even a factor.

  12. well it depends how you write

if you write big you probably want wide ruled because the lines are farther apart but if you write smaller you probably want college ruled because the lines aren't as far apart

  13. It doesn't really matter, but only elementary and middle schoolers use wide-ruled.

  14. I doubt that any class would care.  If they do, they will specify which type you must use.  If the instructor does not say, then it does not matter.

  15. get college ruled there are more lines so u can write more on a page

  16. It usually does not matter at all - however - if a teacher requests a certain kind of paper, they will let you know on the first day of class...
