Its wierd....if i wake up in the middle of the night, then once im up its like i cant fall back asleep u know? So i try and try not to stay up for very long because everytime i do it takes for ever to fall back asleep. For example: last night i woke up at like 3:00 in the morning. I tried my hardest to fall asleep again.....I finally fell half asleep at like 4:00 in the morning. So half asleep and half awake i get these adrenaline rushes. Not just one like, i have one then they just keep repeating continuously until i wake myself up. Then after a long time of having them after everytime i fall asleep, i finally go to sleep for the rest of the night. Sorry if this was confusing. But why do i have these adrenaline rush things?? Does anyone else have the same problem? Help?

  1. It's actually happened to me, i'm pretty sure it's not an adrenaline rush but in case it is i'd see a doctor having these random rushes may point to a mental problem or their might be something wrong with your adrenal gland so just to be on the safe side get a consult.

Adrenaline can be induced from noise, or stress. The usual cause is the known "Flight of Fight" response, but if it's happening in the night maybe a nightmare?

  2. Dont be so sure that adrenaline is involved.Sleep sensitivity is very common.Sometimes people wake up at 3am and find it difficult to go back to sleep, for the simple reason that their bodies have rested enough.Others, prevent themselves from going back to sleep,by thinking to much ,which puts the brain in gear when you need it in neutral.Try listening to soft  instrumental music via an i pod or the like,if you feel that you need more sleep, blank your mind of everything but the music---sweet dreams.

  3. have you seen the movie Wanted? maybe try shooting the wings off flies or something like that

  4. dude i totally get these too!! you know what i think it is? i think its we have so much going on in our lives and were just so excited and anxious that we don't let our minds and hearts rest or something and we end up driving ourselves nuts.

  5. Is this definitely adrenaline rush? some times when you try to sleep, you can literally feel yourself "falling asleep" feels a bit like a sudden drop, most of the time you are not aware of it, but sometimes you feel it, kind of makes you jump, could that be whats going on?
