Wierd Speaker Issue?

Okay, so when my husband shaves his head (with a regual plug in conair electric one) in the bathroom which is about 10-12 feet from the computer, the computer speakers (whether they are one or not) freak out with like wierd feedback type sounds. Whats going on?

  1. Your issue is not that weird. They are most likely on the same circuit, and one of two things is happening: either your power supply for your speakers is not filtering out the switching frequency of the razor, or, the EMI generated from the razor is being coupled into your speakers which amplify it. You can solve this problem by:

    1 - Trying an EMI filter on your power supply line.

    2 - Changing speakers to ones that are shieded.

    3 - Moving your speakers to another circuit in the house that is not on that power supply line.

    You are hearing the switching frequency of the razor. If you really want to get noise over your speakers, try an electric knife!
