Wierd things happening to me with the number 11?

Question

for about the past 3 weeks im experiencing a really wierd instance of seeing the number 11 in one form or another. Im not by any means a superstitious person. I am very grounded. And when something uncannily wierd happens i kind of notice. It started with me waking up on 3 seperate ocassions seeing the time 11.11am on my clock, then on 2 occassions waking up and seeing 1.11. We did this investigation into a haunted house and we set up a camera to see if anything happened. at exactly 1h11m11secs a loud door slam and walking sounds happened (we werent anywhere near the house) I also did a zener card test (psychic test) on the special features of the dvd for the movie final destination and scored 11. My mate picked me up for the gym at 11.11 when i looked at my phone when i got in his car, then when i got out of his car after i got home and looked at my phone it was 1.11. This has all happened in the last 3 weeks. Has anyone had this happen to them, its so wierd

Wow!  It is so wierd to hear this from someone else.  I have been seeing 11:11 and 9:11 on the clock almost everyday for the last several years.  I first thought it was simply coincidence, but it has happened too often.  Also, I do not look at the clock that often.  I still notice it is happening, but I don't think much of it anymore.

Have you ever watched the movie the Number 23 with Jim Carrey?  Great movie.

It's called confirmation bias.  You assign special meaning to something, like the number 11.  Although you see hundreds of numbers every day, you take note of the times you see your special number while disregarding the times you don't.

Have you ever looked at an analog clock when it's 11:11.  Not so special.

happens to me everyday ...with the number 22.  My best friend died our senior year of high school on her way home from playing in a basketball game in which her # was 22.  That night at our football game #22 scored a touchdown off the 22 yard line with 22 seconds left in the game ...we won 22-21 ......

Ever since then, that number has been with me ...just a reminder of my best friend !

Yes, there's a simple explanation.  It's called the confirmation effect.  You see hundreds of numbers every day - prices, phone number, license plate numbers, times.  If you wrote them all down, you'd see there's nothing special about 11 - you just remember when you see it and and forget when you didn't.

At the very least, your subconscious is focusing on this symbol for some reason.  That reason could be noting the symbol where it didn't weave into the other available information (like, why does the clock say 11 when I thought the time was 3) or it might be something more useful.  Just note it and what surrounds it (proximity, sequence, and time), then don't take it too seriously, let it sit at the periphery of your awareness but without a heavy emotional load.  That is your best choice for eventually identifying the source of the experiences, the connection.  Then again, you may never know.  Jung wrote a book on the topic of "coincidences" and also did a long-term study comparing the astrological charts of married couples.  You might find either interesting.

Did you ever read Victor Frankl's "A Man's Search for Meaning?"  Great book...he stated:  "it is not the event that has meaning, but the meaning you place on the event."  Make these observations positive ones, instead of gloom and doom.

I hate to admit this but it has been happening to me too since December when my dad died. I got the call at 10:11 and now it seems like everytime I look at the clock it's something _:11.
