Germany international guardian http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Wiese-c35108 has offered his complete backing to his national team head coach Joachim Low, on the backdrop of the 30-year-old being left out of the national team’s friendly fixture against Argentina
on Wednesday.
The highly experienced professional has consistently been part of the Germany squad since 2008, even after a few under par performances in the past.
The 30-year-old was included in the national team squad for the European Championships 2012, but was ignored recently in an attempt to bring in young goalkeepers and prepare them for future tournaments, as Wiese only had a few
years left at the top level.
Moreover, the German coach was heavily criticised following the humiliating defeat at the hands of the Azzurri, but Wiese has come to the support of the talented manager and insists that it is unfair to make Low the scapegoat for
their exit at Euro 2012.
The player suggested that they were shocked by the semi-final loss as they had a very good and balanced side, but were too naive in their clash with the Italians. He stressed that they should have played better like they did in
the earlier stages of the competition.
"It was sad [that Germany were eliminated], because no one had expected it. We actually had a great team, but against the Italians, we were too nice,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The goalkeeper claimed that he was unable to grasp the judgement of the Germany boss. He added that he was astonished with the German supporters who were in one moment glorifying him and the next minute criticising him beyond measure.
"I could not understand the fuss surrounding [Low]. It's amazing how quickly you will be praised highly in Germany, before being knocked down again. It's incredible," he finally concluded.
Wiese transferred to Hoffenheim in the summer transfer window following a seven-year spell with Werder Bremen, where he earned huge respect and won the German League Cup in 2006 and DFB-Pokal Cup in 2009.
