Wife is getting blisters on her hands?

My wife just started playing and after 1 short day at the range she is getting a blister on the inside of her right hand. She is right handed and wore a glove on her left hand. Any clue if this is normal or what might be causing this. How can she fix this?

  1. gloves on both hands before it gets too bad...she should try patting her hands with baby powder to keep them from sweating and bring more with u just in case.

  2. her grip is to tight

  3. Sounds like she is not gripping the club properly, but most first-timers take a few sessions before their hands get used to it. A glove for her other hand will help in the short term, but she needs to get into the habit of taking a good grip before each shot.

Is she using full-cord grips on her clubs? They do tend to be rough on the hands, maybe replace them with something softer. And dont hit too many balls on your first few visits either.

  4. Its normal, wear 2 gloves.

  5. tell her to stick to doing the dishes.

  6. its normal for a first time player. it happend to me when i began to play also. As she plays more it will happen less. If you really need to, its not that bad to wear 2 golfing gloves. also blisters are a sign that the hands are rubbing against the club.

  7. She is gripping wrong. Buy a glove for her and a grip that has the right grip for her.

  8. teach her the proper grip..  make sure it's not loose when she swings the club..  you're not supposed to get blisters even if you're a beginner..  calluses, yes, blisters, no..

  9. completely normal for a beginner.  Ive been golfing for about 6 years now and i still get them at the beginning of the season.  Me recommendation is wearing 2 gloves or taping her hands.  Tiger Woods even tapes his hands sometimes.  Also, blisters are a good indicator for that she is holding the club too tight.

  10. That is completely normal.  That happened to me too when I began playing.  It takes about 3 weeks for them to stop.  Tell your wife that if she plans on playing golf for awhile to make sure that she uses hand lotion every day because her hands will become very dry and "worn out".

  11. Friction, minor injuries, pressure and using golf clubs all can cause blisters. If you can prevent a blister from getting infected, it will usually go away within a few days. Just try these steps.

Step1  Clean the skin around the blister.

Step2  Place a doughnut-shaped piece of moleskin over the blister. This will keep pressure off it.

Step3  Try to avoid popping the blister unless it's in an especially awkward place, such as the bottom of your foot. The blister provides a sterile environment for the skin underneath. Breaking it makes the area more susceptible to infection.

Step4  If you need to pop the blister, use sterile implements, puncture it in a few places at its base and drain the fluid.

Step5  If you need to puncture it or if it breaks on its own, clean the area with soap and water or Betadine.

Step6  Avoid peeling any skin off the blister; this can lead to an infection and delay healing.

Step7  Cover the exposed blister with a thin layer of antibiotic ointment and dry sterile gauze.

Step8  Change the gauze regularly and watch for signs of infection, such as pus or redness.

    hope this helps!
