Wife lost colour red from screen, all she has now is green and yellow, what could this be?

things like yahoo symbol and other things are black now and the rest green and yellow

At my previous job, my monitor did something similar. We called in our computer guru and he mentioned my color gun was loose and needed to be fixed. It looked like he wiggled a few wires on the back of the monitor and it was fixed. This monitor wasn't as new as the high tech ones now but if it's an older one you may check the wires.

Seamus, you must have a very old TV. I can remember this happening to me about 20yrs ago. I can't remember how it was sorted, but in the old tellys, though I don't think I am going back as far as the age of the old mullard valves, but there used to be 4different colour thingies at the back  that gave you the colour on your screen, and I think that once they become inoperable it's time for a new screen. Black and white is not THAT bad is it?

maybe get a new monitor the old one could be fried
