Wifi, Stream music from comp to reciever??

my dad wants to be able to stream music from the computer to his receiver in the living room, because we have surround sound throughout the house, what do I need to buy to do this?

It depends on how complicated he wants to get. There are dedicated wi-fi receiving units that play various internet music streams that connect to his stereo receiver (in the same manner you'd connect a CD player). However, in my opinion, the best initial approach is a stereo cable that connects the computer to the stereo receiver. This way, he can decide if he likes streaming music before investing in expensive equipment. You'll need a cable with a 1/8" stereo plug on one end (which gets plugged into the computer) and dual RCA plugs (one left, one right, which get plugged into the stereo receiver) on the other end.
