Wifi Question!!!?!?!?

i have a linksys router 802.11b which i now outdated but... i have a pc with the same processor speed and less ram then my laptop. the pc downloads at 2800 kpbs while the laptop downloads at arounf 700kbps. i alrady no the router is out dated but why is the laptop slowe. both are the same distance from the router and get excellent signal?

BOTH ARE WIFI,

PC HAS 2.5Ghz process and so does laptop

PC has 2gb of ram LAPTOP has 4..

WHATS THE DEAL!

There could be a difference in the network cards speed etc.. of your PC and Laptop causing this difference.

The computer probably both have different networking cards.

Because a networking card with more mbps will accept higher speed. But what I think for your case is that your laptop has 54 Mpbs card and the desktop has a 300 Mbps.
