Wifi connection help ?

hello i have a mac os x leopard and if your familiar you know they have a built in wireless router ( i think belkin MIMO thats what comes up in my airport menu) and i receive wireless signals fine . but the thing is when ever some one calls i lose connection completely? i want to know before i get xbox live any help?

Yes if it is a wireless phone try changing the wireless router channel through  the admin page 192.168.1.1 or another number usually written on the wifi box itself.  If you have a wired phone you should contact your service provider because that is a major problem they need to fix.

It is not called a router, it is a receiver. The phone and wireless use 2.4 GHz frequencies, so i recommend that you switch the wireless frequency on your router (the one that is plugged into a wall.) You can plug in your XBOX directly in the router with an ethernet cable, and it should never lose the connection. If you change the wireless channel of your router your laptop won't disconnect. You can also buy a non-wireless phone or wire your computer.

You probably have a 2.4GHz cordless phone...they're the cheapest and mose widely available.  Classic symptom.  A few cordless phones can select a specific channel but most jump around randomly to increase security (which stomps all over the computer signal)

Put your wireless router as high up as you can and as far from electrical and metal things as you can, that'll give you the best coverage.  Try to put it in the middle of where you expect to be (usually the middle of the house).  If you have 2.4GHz cordless phones you may want to replace them with 5.8GHz, 900MHz, or the new DECT6.0 phones that won't cause interference.  Also, wireless video senders, or wireless cameras that run on 2.4GHz should be set to the farthest channel from your router (e.g. set video sender to 1 or A and put the router on channel 11).
