Wii Fit Question...?

Does it actually do anything for your fitness? Can you get toned from using it?

I've never used it and I don't have a clue. I just wanted to know before I fork out £70 for something that's purely recreational :D

  1. Wii fit is a good fitness tool.  It's mostly light exercise and coaching in a less-painful manner than DVDs or doing it on your own.

You aren't going to get ridiculously buff using wii fit.  There aren't any weights involved!  It does have a strength training section full of calisthenics that will help you build muscle, however.

It certainly isn't "purely recreational."  I've had it for under two months, and found that its value as a fitness tool far outlived its recreational value.

For myself, my mother, and my roommates, it's great!  For my boyfriend who plays soccer 9 hours a week and works out with weights 3-6 hours a week, it's worthless.

Hope that helped.  Contact your local game stores and see if you can try it out somewhere.  I thought the pricetag was steep, so I tried it at a friend's house before I bought it.  For me, though, it's been more than worth it.
