Wii internet and Linksys router??

Question

The Wii doesnt connect.

I type in the encryption key or password and still nothing.

Help please.

I assume you mean wireless since you have an encryption key.

Are you using WEP or WPA?

Double check the key.  Make sure it's upper/lower case correctly entered.

If you use WEP don't enter the "passphrase", you need to enter it the actual key which is a series of "hex" values (it would be the field on your router with numbers 0-9 and letters a-f).  This is because some companies use different methods of turning the passphrase into a hex-key.  Entering the hex values elminiates this problem.

are you in range? if you are not mouve your wii closer to the rounter. when it did not work did it give you an erroer code? if it did, go to nintendo.com, and on the site you should see something on the side that says error code tlook up put in the number and hit enter. that ,might tell u why.

make sure you have forwarded the correct ports, see link. Just find your router or one close to it then look for the WII on the second list.

Access your routers wireless setting and remove the wireless password just to see if it makes any difference.
