Wii internet question

When you do all that stuff to get an internet connection with the modem does the internet connection then work without the modem or do you always need the modem to do wifi stuff on wii. I really wanna play mario kart with wifi but i'm confused.

ok here we go:

LAN Adapter-cost:$20 at gamestop(uses USB on back of wii and comes with patch cable to connect it to ur modem)

Broadband cable or DSL modem-cost:$?(depends on company u get it from, its the tall skinny box thing with a bunch of little lights)

1.connect LAN adapter to wii via USB port on back of wii

2.connect patch cable to patch port on LAN adapter then tho other end to the back of ur modem

3.urn off ur internet connection, then turn it back on.

4. turn on thw Wii, then got to settings and select internet and set up the connection(usually u just haver to test the connection)

5.if connection is good,u r now connected to the internet thru ur Wii

6.if not, read the troubleshooting using the error code given to u

if u have wirless, just go to settings and try connecting wirelessly, however, USB and the LAN adapter is much faster...but it will still be fast if u can use wireless......just try to connect to the wireless box using the wii.

U NEED THE CABLE OR DSL MODEM TO CONNECT! IF U HAVE WIRELESS, U STILL NEED IT ON AND WORKING!

TIP!!!!!!!! there is an alternate to wireless, wifi USB cable for Wii, use the software disc to allow permission of ur Wii to connect and ur Wii will be able to connect thru Wireless

also, u can use AOSS wireless transmit technology if u have it with ur wireless box.

Your modem is what connects you to the internet. Therefore, no modem= no internet.
